Welcome to FiveThirtyEight’s podcasts! We aim to bring you thoughtful, data-driven journalism that you can listen to whenever, wherever. Here are a few ways to listen to our shows:
Listen on FiveThirtyEight
You can listen to any of our podcasts by clicking the big “play” button on the podcast logo in the posts accompanying each new episode at fivethirtyeight.com/podcasts.
Subscribe to the podcast
There are lots of podcast apps that let you subscribe to our shows (for free!) and automatically download every new episode. Here are a few of our favorites:
- ESPN App (iOS or Android) In the new ESPN app you can find our podcasts by clicking on the “listen” tab that looks like a set of headphones on the bottom right. Then choose “FiveThirtyEight” and you will see all of our podcasts listed. From there you can subscribe, get alerts when there’s a new episode or search through past episodes. Only ESPN’s podcasts are available in the ESPN app.
- Apple Podcast App (iOS) If you have an iPhone, this app is already installed. Open the app, search for “fivethirtyeight,” click on the podcast you’re looking for and press “subscribe.” You can also use iTunes on your desktop to subscribe and listen.
- Some of the other apps you can use to listen to our podcasts (on iOS or Android) include Stitcher, Overcast, Pocket Casts, Podkicker, and the list goes on. Try them out and see which one you like best. Once you’ve picked your favorite app, search “fivethirtyeight” and subscribe to any of our shows. Many of these apps also let you listen in your browser if you’re at your computer.
- RSS. You can manually subscribe to our RSS feed by copying and pasting the link in our posts into your podcast player. Most podcast players will already automatically be connected with our podcasts, so if you aren’t familiar with using RSS feeds, don’t worry, you are probably covered. You can find each podcast’s RSS feed under the player on our website.
When do the podcasts come out?
We release our podcasts on a weekly basis, with some extras thrown in on occasion. If you subscribe to our podcasts on iTunes or in your favorite app, new episodes will be waiting for you when you are ready to listen. “Elections” comes out on Monday, “Hot Takedown” comes out on Tuesday and “What’s The Point” comes out on Thursday.
